Start! Heart Walk 2010

We volunteered to help photograph the American Heart Association’s 2010 Start! Heart Walk again this year.  Every year, I kick myself for volunteering for something that requires me to get up SO early…and then I arrive at the event.  This year over 20,000 people participated in the walk, and just seeing this many people get together for such a great cause warms my heart (but unfortunately not my hands) :)   There were walkers of different ages, sizes, and breeds (literally) participating – check out our photos below.  I can’t wait until next years walk where we will be up in the bucket of the fire truck getting fantastic aerial shots of the crowd at the starting line….stay tuned!!!

Turman Family Portraits

Brian and I had the pleasure of meeting Michelle and her amazing family a few weeks ago.  We have mentioned before that we try to donate to charities whenever possible.  Well, Michelle had purchased our donation at a silent auction put on by the YMCA.  We were thrilled to shoot their yearly family photos, though unfortunately, it was on the day that the USA lost in the World Cup :(

Enjoy the photos of Michelle, Eric, Matthew, and Nicholas:

Walk Like MADD!

A few weeks ago, we were contacted by a fantastic organization, Mother’s Against Drunk Driving, to help them photograph their annual Walk Like MADD event.  Seeing as how we strongly believe in philanthropy, we jumped at the chance to help.  The event was held on the University of South Florida Campus, and was a huge success.  With over 450 walkers, the event raised over $30,000 which will help in drunk driving prevention.  You can still help by donating to this worthy cause if you go to the event site if you feel so inclined.  Make sure to check out some of our photos from the walk!

Philanthropy is so important…

Although we are still a newer company in the market that is trying to build up a name and reputation, we believe in giving back.  We have teamed up with numerous organizations over the last several months throughout the Tampa Bay area and donated to charity auctions, and volunteer/member raffles.  These donations include portrait sessions as well as complimentary prints of their choice.

Over the holiday season, we were fortunate enough to partner with two very worthy causes to help with their annual events. The first one was the American Heart Association.  We were thrilled that they asked us to help to photograph their 2009 Annual Heart Walk over at Raymond James Stadium.  We spent the entire day photographing the companies and the volunteers who so graciously gave of their time on a beautiful Saturday afternoon to raise money for the AHA.  The day was perfect and the people we met were absolutely amazing!

The second charity that we had the pleasure of working with was the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tampa Bay.  Now this event was their Annual Holiday Open House, but the guests were not the countless people that this charity helps.  This event was a special thank you that they do every year for the organizations volunteers and employees.  These are the people behind the scenes that keep this amazing organization running.  Throughout the night, they had a candle-lighting ceremony to commemorate those people who made an incredible difference during the year, as well as Santa giving out gifts to all of the children that were there.  It was a great event and I couldn’t have imagined a friendlier more giving group of people.

I hope that we can continue to work with not only these charities, but hopefully some more around Tampa.  It is so important to make even a small difference.
